Castlevania Judgment is an episode of Game Grumps VS and the only episode of Castlevania Judgment.

Discussion[]

Arin mentions that he refused to play as Minnie in The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie playthrough (a decision that confused both the audience and Jon himself, since Arin's standard is to play as the female character) because he doesn't like Minnie and considers her an annoying, spastic, bipolar character who acts like a nagging wife.

The Grumps consider the game over-simplified, with fights being reduced to spamming the characters' super-combos. They also criticize Takeshi Obata's overly feminine designs for the characters, with Jon heavily criticizing Simon's design, which he considers radically different from his standard design, specially since Simon's previous designs were manly, while this game's Simon design has painted-on abs, and specially since he only appeared on the original Castlevania and Super Castlevania IV. Jon calls this design Humphrey Belmont, the outcast of the family.

Arin mentions that most of the Game Grumps VS matches are won by Jon.

Every time Jon executes a super combo, he starts singing "Beginning" (the theme of the first level of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse) by Konami Kukeiha Club.

Trivia[]

  • Jon says that Simon Belmont's only protagonist roles were in Castlevania and Super Castlevania IV (a remake of Castlevania); Simon was also the protagonist of Castlevania II (whose subtitle is Simon's Quest), Akumajō Dracula/Akumajō Dracula/Castlevania Chronicle Akumajo DRACULA (another remake of Castlevania), Vampire Killer and Haunted Castle; he also made appearances on Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.
