The Game Boy is the second handheld video game console manufactured by Nintendo, and the first in the Game Boy line.
History[]
The Game Boy was released in Japan on April 21, 1989, in North America in August 1989, and in Europe on September 28, 1990. It competed successfully with the Atari Lynx, Sega Game Gear, and TurboExpress.
The Game Boy was succeeded by the Game Boy Color in 1998, and discontinued a year later.
On Game Grumps[]
The Game Grumps have played four games for the Game Boy. They played these games using the Super Nintendo Entertainment System's Super Game Boy add-on. Although the Super Mario Land games were the only Game Boy games that were featured on the main Game Grumps show, Grumpcade seems to feature Game Boy games much more frequently. These are usually games Barry remembers playing growing up.
