The Game Boy Color is the third handheld video game console manufactured by Nintendo, and the second in the Game Boy line.
History
Edit
The Game Boy Color was released on October 21, 1998 in Japan, November 18, 1998 in North America, November 23, 1998 in Europe and November 27, 1998 in Australia, succeeding the Game Boy. As a fifth-generation handheld console, the Game Boy Color competed with the Neo Geo Pocket and the WonderSwan, although it had little trouble outselling them.
The Game Boy was succeeded by the Game Boy Advance in 2001, and later discontinued in 2003.
