Status Complete

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! is the first game played by Danny and Arin on Game Grumps.

Playthrough[edit | edit source]

Danny plays the game entirely by himself. He manages to play the game all the way through to Mike Tyson, whom he cannot defeat, resulting in the Game Grumps quitting the game. However, at the Game Grumps panel at Magfest XII, Danny had stated that they were going to go back to try and defeat Tyson.

On March 21th, 2015, more than a year and a half after the last video on the game, Danny returned to Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! to defeat Mike Tyson, and won. The video is made even more special by the fact that it was uploaded on Danny's birthday.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This is Danny's first appearance after Jon left Game Grumps.
  • This game has the longest time gap inbetween episode uploads. Part 5 was uploaded on July 2nd, 2013, and the following part was uploaded more than 20 months later on March 14th, 2015, finishing the game once and for all. It is also notable for the most format changes showcased in a playthrough as a result of the Grumps making a lot of cosmetic changes as well as a staff change between 2013 to 2015: switching from Barry to Kevin as their main video editor, changing intros twice (switching from the one used with Jon to Danny's, then re-recording it to make it sound better), retiring the font style used by Jon and moving to a more comic font that was later altered to a cooler color when Kevin took over, orange sidebasr with slightly bigger brown dots, sharper video resolution due to new recording equipment, and the addition of the endslate.
  • This video featured the debut of the first rendition of the intro with Danny, where Danny tried to imitate the way Jon sounded when he sung, "Aaaaand we're the Game Grumps!" However, because it sounded out of tune, it was dropped after three episodes of this playthrough and Super Mario Bros. 2, the first two games played by Danny and subsequently posted on the channel. By the fourth episode of both playthroughs, the Grumps had re-recorded the intro with Danny and Arin adjusting their voices to be properly in tune, resulting in the current intro they now regularly use.
